A Story of Healing and Oneness

Hi Everyone!

I attended an event tonight at the Gramercy Mansion in Stevenson, MD, not far from my home, and was moved to share with you. Anne Pomykala, the owner of the mansion, travelled to India a few months back, and was so taken by a special woman and her mission, she invited her to the U.S. to tell her story and give others the opportunity to help.

This woman is Sister Lucy Kurien, who opened a center for battered women in her home town of Pune, India. I could feel, as I hugged Sister Lucy, that she is truly living her life purpose, and has the blessings of many angels with her. I could feel that a trip to the U.S had worn on her, but she graciously explained her mission and signed books well after the event was over.

Sister Lucy is a former Carmellite nun that was moved to open Maher, which means " Mother's home" in the local language, when she witnessed a 7-months pregnant mother burned alive by her husband. Maher has provided refuge for over 1300 women and 900 children since 1997.

Check out the website at http://www.maherashram.org
Along with assisting women and children, Maher works to educate towards Oneness and compassion in the community, no small task in an area where caste systems still are painfully evident, and abuse to women is not addressed.

I bought a beautiful batik this evening made by one of Maher's rehabilitated women. It displays the symbols of the world religions in a message of Oneness. I'm hoping there is a way to get more of these beautiful batiks and candles! Will keep you posted on that.

Please take the time to read more about Sister Lucy's story, and the women of Maher.
If you feel guided, please consider making a small donation to Maher. Remember our dollar goes a long way in India. I believe you can also sponsor a woman or child as well. If you are not comfortable sharing your credit card information over the internet, as I believe you are prompted on the site, you can send a donation via any of the donation keys on my PeaceofOne.com wesite, making sure to designate it to Maher, and I can write a check to Maher and have Gramercy Mansion get it over to them. Remember as we give to others, it draws more to us as well:)

Wishing everyone a wonderful spring, with many blessings of health, joy, and prosperity!

Happy New Year!

Wishing everyone a blessed and Happy New Year as we celebrate it within this calendar.

2009 feels to me like a year with a lot to offer. Here in Maryland, blasting 50 mph winds brought in 2009 and released 2008. It is important to become aware that every one of us holds much of the coming year's future right in the palm of our hand. Certainly there are things that may appear outside human control, and of course there are events that may need to transpire within certain parameters under the will of Source. Remember though, that our thoughts have a major impact on the collective consciousness, even to the far extents of the Cosmos, so a good New Year's Resolution would certainly be to entertain thoughts of love, peace, forgiveness, and joy, and likewise to release any and all old feelings of anger, resentment, and intolerance.

May each day in 2009 find you experiencing the joys of the Earth and the Love of God.

Holiday Blessings

I send out wishes of love, joy and blessings to everyone during this beautiful holiday season. Regardless of our faith, the winter holiday traditions are a time to reflect and be grateful for everything we have in our lives and how much we are able to share and give to others.

The best holiday gift for me would be to see the entire world realize that, despite religious differences, we are all children of Mother/Father/God/Source, and all have the ability to make a positive difference in the lives of ourselves and others.

I choose the picture of Jesus Christ because he is the epitome of forgiveness and unconditonal love, gifts that we are free to experience and give every day. Take the time consider Jesus and the way he lived, the way he accepted everyone regardless of faith; more so than the judgements and trappings of intolerance often seen in the world today.

Happy Holidays

One of those days

I'm posing a question to everyone today...including myself...I'm wondering how often I'm judging, and how this is affecting my daily life. Sure, in many ways, we constantly have to judge; distances so we don't fall on our butts, whether something is affordable in our budget, how a certain out fit looks on us :O; the list goes on and on. This is not the type of judgement I'm talking about, though.

I'm talking about those times when we're experiencing strong opinions about people or things as "good" or "bad", and the whole spectrum of emotions within the two. Today, I realized I was on an entire tangent of judging; the traffic was moving too slow, people were weaving around, cutting other drivers off ("what nerve they had!"), and before I knew it, I was caught up in the drama of it and was feeling pretty crappy. The day had started out lovely; summer officially arrived a week ago, flowers cascading from the garden, my woodland bird neighbors were singing soulfully. It all seemed so far away now that I was angry and irritable.

Hmm. Okay. Now it was time to tap into my past education in spirituality. I gave it some thought, and realized that these crazy drivers, the ones clutching the wheel nervously; holding up traffic, and the ones so rudely terrorizing everyone else were most likely good people having bad moments. Oh, wait. That is true; but there I was judging again. I'd just flipped the switch over to "good" mode. Then it hit me. I needed to step outside the drama and emotion and realize that whether I like it or not, this moment is as it is supposed to be. Nothing more, nothing less. No reason to start shouting or crying. Of course, if one of those drivers were about to hit me, I would make the discernment that this could be a dangerous thing and I'd better get the heck out of the way. By attempting to practice non-judgement with my emotional faculties, however, I would avoid the need to curse the person, shake myself up any further, and focus instead on being grateful for coming out unscathed.

Practicing non-judgement is very liberating. It frees us to enjoy moments and situations that we would not normally experience. It allows for the freedom of enjoying life straight up, without all the complications. I've decided I'm going to keep trying it...life is definitely better when I remember not to judge, but instead discern. Hmmm...its way too cool in here...I thought summer was here...maybe I'll put a jacket on so I can stop thinking about the temperature and relish this fragrant early summer night.

Always be True to Yourself

Always be True to Yourself
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Richard_Blackstone]Richard Blackstone

Use the law of attraction to be true to yourself. Attract spirituality information to you through the constant seeking of clarity about the question, "Who Am I?" The secret to your spiritual growth is to always be true to yourself.

Even when you are sleepwalking and living unconsciously, you are still living with the authentic power that is your very essence, whether you are conscious of it or not. It's just like your little toes. They are part of your body whether you are conscious of them or not.

Sometimes, when you are cutting your toenails, you become very conscious of them. You can see them. You wiggle them and they are a critical part of the make-up of your feet and therefore your whole system of balance. They do their job and you are grateful to have them but they are not in your consciousness.

Your authentic power is the same way in a nonphysical sense. It is always part of you and, just like your little toes, you use this power all the time. You only become aware of this power when you consciously think about your life and allow thoughts and words about "cause and effect" to enter the arena of your consciousness.

When you open yourself to the concept of your spirit and bring into balance the mind, body, spirit being that you are, then you can more easily see the connection between your individual self and the symmetry that self plays out as a unified piece of the whole.

It becomes critical to identify your spirit as an equal and integral partner in this divine triad that makes up the human experience. As explained early in the book, you are made up as a three-part being. When your mind, body and spirit are working as equal partners, then we can experience the largest amount of love.

It requires being true to yourself. I experienced being out of balance in my mind, body, spirit beingness most of my life. Most of my life I accentuated my mind and my body as those aspects of myself that I chose to define myself.

That is what the words of others told me was the best way to be if I wanted to achieve this concept they called "successful." I was told throughout my life, from the words of my most influential teachers, like my mother and father and my schoolteachers and my religious leaders and of course, the almighty television, that success was something to be strived for and attained at all costs.

Who was I to refute the words of these knowledgeable masters? At the time I didn't really grasp the concept that words are the least reliable purveyor of the truth. Quite the opposite. I believed that words spoken by authoritative figures where words to live by and trust and believe as manna from heaven. Even when those words seemed contrary to my own experiences and truths.

Isn't it funny how we get so caught up in the words that other people tell us and then proceed to use those words as our own? It's easy to do because we have been conditioned to do that from our birth. Critical thinking was not part of any school or life curriculum.

This idea of "success" is so appealing because when you live within the fear-based paradigm of being separate from each other you need a scorecard to see if you are winning at the game of life. The good or bad opinions of others rule your life.

It is no longer good enough to be true to yourself, you must live in fear of how you perceive other peoples opinions of you. What they say about you. What powerful words they use to describe you. Whether they are words of praise or words of disdain, they are words with the power to affirm, alter and completely misconstrue who you believe yourself to be.

The best way to combat this external barrage of words that are designed to influence how you perceive yourself is to be immune to them. You are not going to stop other people from saying words, both good and bad, about how they describe you. You have no power over what other people say or do.

Your only true authentic power is the power that lies within you. This power allows you to control your own thoughts, words and deeds but it does not allow you to control the thoughts, words and deeds of others except through your own example.

Always be true to yourself.

Planting New Desires in Spring

Begin Anew with Spring

Well, Spring is finally here in the Northeast, the birds sing sweetly outside my window, and the buds on the trees are growing. My native Blubell flowers are peeking through the soil, little blue buds ready.

The ancient Chinese believed the plans for a new year should be made in the spring with the rebirth of the Earth after a dark winter. Spring returns the beloved sun to us, along with the promise of growth and beauty. You may have made a New Year's resolution, but take the time to think about what you really want for the next year. Plant your wishes and goals with the spring as you would a tender annual flower. There will be days when the winds blow or the cold comes and you have to cover and protect the growing plant. Its growth may be slow at first, then once the warm sun stays fixed, it will be blossoming from all the love and care it received, and bring you much joy.

Likewise, plant your seedling desires now, while the spring energies support the growth of everything else on the planet. There will be days that you will not notice much growth, but be patient and protect your newly planted ideas and desires so they may bloom to fruition.

In order for any program to have its roots take hold this spring, you must first fertilize your garden bed of intentions. Love is the noursihing factor that will spark the growth of any new endeavor, whether it is of a material need, or a personal goal.

If you are starting a new job, find ways to love the job, to love the commute, to love your pay. Even of this job isn't the one you ultimately want, learning to find love for it will bring the dream job closer, and you will experience more syncronicities. If your goal is to lose weight, start loving yourself and realizing how important you are to many before you change your diet. You can watch what you eat and count calories all you want, but weight loss will always be elusive until you make the resolution to love yourself, be grateful for your personal beauty, and the health already available to you.

Learning to love the self is an ongoing task, but it is an amazing journey. Keeping a journal, talking to a counselor, and receiving various forms of energy and bodywork will expedite the process.

Another element to establish the growth of a spring intention garden is forgiveness. Forgiveness simply means releasing others from the anger and resentment you feel towards them for an offense, and releasing demands for retribution or punishment. This is one of the most difficul things in the world to do, but one of the most liberating. While the actions of a perpetrator may be considered unforgivable, this does not mean as an individual we cannot forgive them. The personal growth you gain will jump start all your seedling ideas and wishes. It is like adding enzymes and worms to the soil to turn waste and decay into fertile substrate.

In forgiving someone, this does not mean you hold the stance of allowing yourself to be abused or over sighted again. In some extreme cases, you may have to avoid or call authorities on an individual. In most cases though, this is someone that has not been so great to you due to their own perception of reality, yet you must still share space with them regularly. Once you do the work of forgiving, you should take the time to protect your energy, surrounding yourself with the light of God, until you feel the situation has effectively diffused. Archangel Michael offers light pillars to those needing quick protection. All you have to do is ask, for any reason, and it is there. Some can feel the white light energy come down around them.

If you are still having trouble forgiving, remember The laws of Karma, or cause and effects are always active within this dimension we inhabit, and all debts are paid, you need do nothing to retaliate.

Think also of the flowers and the grass. Surely you can't walk across a lawn or meadow without disturbing some being. Most of the flowers and little creatures are quite forgiving to the feet that crush them. Its the ones like poison ivy and stinging insects we remember, but so many others are beneath your feet. They just pick themselves up the best they can, and keep growing towards the sun. They may end up a little crooked, but they still can boast a beautiful bloom or gossamer wings because they forgave and survived, not allowing themselves to lay crushed and perish.

So tend your spring garden. Layer on plenty of love, gratitude, hope, and faith, and be ready to reap the beautiful color and scent of success in any venture.

OK, if some of my wording seemed to switch around, it is because my dear guide Pfeirra was standing beside me. She is a beautiful Elemental princess of sorts. Her entire being is shades of green, from her pale skin to her long hair and luminous almond eyes. She holds a flower, and asks that everyone examines the petals of the flowers to gain insight into all aspects of Earthly creation.

May you reap a beautiful harvest from your spring plantings!

Namaste
